He was predeceased by: his sister Dawn Hines; and his parents, Sophie Frances Metzler and Allen Sprague. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Sprague (Nicholas Mackey) and Michael Sprague; his siblings, Kim Frimming (Joseph), Cathy Sprague, Paulette Sprague, Gary Hines and Jackie Baldrick; his nieces and nephews, Brian Frimming (Katie), Eric Frimming, Christopher "Kris" Brown, Allison Smith (DJ) and Eric Baldrick; his close friend Eddie Boeh; Chelsea and Laura.

“I'm very saddened by Jeff's passing. I meant him while working together in New Albany. He was such a friendly gentleman and he will be greatly missed. My most recent memory was when he approached me with a sucker that had a bug inside it. He asked if I had grandchildren (which I do not have yet). He said it would make a great gift. He then said "well keep it for yourself then"! Many prayers to all his family.”
