She was predeceased by: her parents, Winnie Mae Peak and Joseph Coster Joann; and her husband Louis Barnett. She is survived by: her children, Ronald Whitson, Sonya Goines (Jonathan), Billie Staples (Dwight), Mark Whitson (Erica), John Whitson (Kimberly), Michael Whitson, Vicky Whitson, Anthony Whitson (Kellie), Donna Goss (Ronnie), Louis Whitson and Lynne Buckner (Oralen). She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
