He was predeceased by: his daughter Savannah Pickering. He is survived by: his parents, Linda Mae and John Thomas Pickering; his wife Nicole Pickering; his children, Evan and Lindsey; his siblings, Von Palmer (Charlie) and Angie Thaxton (Mike); and his siblings' children, Mandy, Kris, John Ross and Jared.

Mark was a member of the DAV and donations honoring his legacy may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (https://www.dav.org) in his name.
