He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alexander and Vivian Alexander. He is survived by: his caregiver Gina Darwish; his siblings, Don Bauer (Susan), Lynne Bunte (Steven), Tracey Hall, Lori Alexander (Mary Maxwell) and Wendy Alexander; his siblings' children, Jason Bauer (Tonja), Adam Dehner (Tara), Jennifer Petty (Andrew) and Kate Dickman (Adam); and his daughter Amber Johnson (AJ). He is also survived by 8 great-nieces.

John requested no service, but the family requests donations be made to UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute at https://foundation.uc.edu http://www.springgrove.org.
