He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Tolbert and Katherine E. Tolbert (Kulick). He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Tolbert (Alexander); his children, Brenda Olsen (Jeff) and John A. Tolbert; his grandson Jason Olsen; and his siblings, Helen Gotcher (Roger) of Cambridge, Jeannie Schehl (Jerry) of Byesville, Angela Kirk of Lewis Center, George Tolbert (Lori) of Cambridge and Joseph Tolbert (Connie) of Cambridge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
