He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Scherer and Evelyn Scherer. He is survived by: his wife Lois Scherer; his children, Kim Seltzer (Brian), Kathi Wanger (Joe) and Jenny Striebich (Dave); his grandchildren, Matthew Seltzer (Jessica Salerno), Nate Seltzer, Erin Laake (PJ), Andrew Wanger, Kelli Wanger, Luke Striebich (Mary Grace), Maria Striebich (Nick Shaw) and Emma Striebich (Ethan Keeling); his great grandchildren, Maya and Valerie Laake; and his siblings, Ginny Scherer, S. C. and Lois Carpenter (late Jim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Dominic Education Fund or Elder High School.
