He was predeceased by: his mother Beverly Johnson (Merrill); and his brother Bryan Scott Johnson. He is survived by: his father Clerance Johnson; his stepmother Lucy Johnson; his son Lanceon Johnson-Handley; his granddaughter Roselyn Handley; and his siblings, Melissa Lunsford, Rebcca "Twiggy" Moore, Rhonda Hammersmith and Floyd "Hoot" Johnson.
