She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Phillip Clifford Long; her children, Elisha Whitney Long (Carolyn), Charlotte Clay Long Clarkson (Miles) and Elliot Sherlock Long (Brittany); her grandchildren, Whitney and Adelaide Clarkson; her children, Campbell, Sophie, Emma and Gardner Long; her sisters, Nancy Rowe Conner (Edward) of San Francisco, CA and Jennifer Rowe Rose (Charles) of Falmouth, MA.; her parents, William Stanhope Rowe and Martha Phyllis Whitney Rowe; her grandparents, John J, Grace Probasco Rowe of Cincinnati, George and Martha Bacon Whitney of New York City; and her brother George Whitney Rowe.

“For six years Whitney and I were classmates at Lotspeich School. We were the April kids…Whitney's birthday on the fourth and mine on the seventh. I became enamored with her as she was wonderfully animated, open, fun and pretty. She was my grade school crush who I have cherished. I am deeply saddened to know of her passing. We had our youthful, warm days, moments I have re-cherished periodically. She lives inside me moving forward with a glow that is bitter-sweet. Shalom Peter Breidenbach”
