He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Carter and John Carter. He is survived by: his siblings, Betty, John, Evon and Carol; his wife Gloria; and his daughters, Pamela, Sherry and Deniese. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
