He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin "Duke" Leichty and Dorothy Griffith Leichty; and his brother Don. He is survived by: his wife Janet Beabout; his children, Debra Shrock (Mike) of Erlanger, KY and Kevin Leichty (Cindy) of West Chester, Ohio.; his grandchildren, Connie Leichty, Keith Leichty (Rachel) and Matthew Shrock; his great grandchildren, Evelyn and Lorelei Leichty; his sister Sherry Boyd (Rondel) of Oblong, IL; and his pet Rocky. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
