He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Schildmeyer and Miriam Schildmeyer; and his brothers, Steve Schildmeyer, Joe Schildmeyer and Marc Schildmeyer.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Wallenhorst Schildmeyer; his daughters, Libby Hardewig (Gary) and Katie Holt (Chris); his grandchildren, Ellie, Jackson, Abigail, Brady and Sophie; and his brother David Schildmeyer.
