He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ferris and Dorothy Gott Ferris; and his wife Margaret Ferris (Wendy). He is survived by: his brother Joseph E. Ferris (Jef); his children, Mike (Kim), Lori (Rob), Meg (Mike) and Bobby (Tony); and his grandchildren, Janie Ferris, Anna Ferris, Paige Courtney, Peter Courtney, Palmer Courtney, Julian Merrill, Ferris Merrill and Gus Merrill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
