She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband E. William Dougherty (Bill); her family Alumni; her parents, Minnie Belle and Lawrence Fields of Columbus; her sisters, Jean Sheridan, Betty Durnford and JoAnn Durnford; her children, Mary Kay Dougherty, Barbara Dougherty, Susan Dougherty and Bill Dougherty; her daughter-in-law Janet Dougherty; and her grandson Ryan Dougherty. She was also cherished by extended family and friends.
In her professional career, she worked as a dental hygienist, an elementary school teacher when her children were young, and a receptionist at the Kettering Foundation, until her retirement in 2020 at the age of 89.
