He was predeceased by: his wife Alice Ann Tapay; his sister Gabriella Marfoldi; his sister-in-law Mary Ellen Jones; his nibling Krisztina Marfoldi; and his parents, Gabriella Tapay and Nicklaus Tapay.

He is survived by: his children, Nicole Tapay, Tony Tapay (Rebecca Pearcy) and Bridget Tapay Yanez (Patricio Yanez); his grandchildren, Ariana Yanez and Zoli Tapay; and his nephews, Donald and John Jones.
