He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Red" Clausen and Mary Clausen (Curley); his son Noah; his brother Steven; his siblings-in-law, Joe Schaefer (MaryAnn) and Linda Clausen (Edward); his nephew Timothy Schlangen; and his great-nephew William Cross.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Clausen (Schaefer); his children, Olivia Appel (Alec), Emily Clausen, Alexander and Russell (Hanna); his grandchild Nico; his brothers, Edward, James (Deanna) and Robert (Michelle); his siblings-in-law, Patricia Schlangen (Gerald), MaryAnn Schaefer, Martha Stegeman, Michael Schaefer (Valerie), Thomas Schaefer (Cindy Cooke) and Theodore Schaefer (Bridget); and his cousin Camie Herman (Michael). He is also survived by aunt to his children and dear confidante to his wife.
