He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter John and Clara; and his siblings, Beatrice (Brinkman), Donald, Walter John Jr., Roger and Walter Jay.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Ann; his children, P. J. (Gwen), Pam Scherer (Steve), Rita Jacobs (Chris), Kim Longi (Tony), Brad and Matthew; and his sister Claire Cahill (Tom). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
