He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Jones Stanley and Pauline Napier Stanley Miller; his wife Sue Stanley; his brothers, John and Sam Stanley; and his son James David Stanley.

He is survived by: his children, Kari Oatts (Tom) of Braselton, Georgia, Kevin Stanley (Lee Ann) of Cincinnati and Todd Stanley (Kelli) of Cincinnati; his grandchildren, Ashleigh Oatts of Athens, Georgia, Jay Oatts (Tess) of Chamblee, Georgia, Jake Stanley of Athens, Georgia, Maggie Stanley (Harlie) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Justin Stanley and Josh Stanley of Cincinnati; and his great grandchildren, Adam and Melody Oatts. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and their children.
