He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Sparks and Louis Sparks; and his siblings, Tom Sparks, Joann Sparks and Janet Figg.

He is survived by: his wife Tena Sparks; his son Scott Sparks (Shelby); his grandson Garrett; his siblings-in-law, Dennis Freeman (late Rosetta) and Loretta Allen; and his nephews, John Figg (Connie), Louis Jerrell and David Jerrell. He is also survived by neighbors and dear friends.
