It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Emil Matthews in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on August 17, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Matthews and Mae Matthews; his former wife Jeanne Corbett Matthews; his wife Beatrice Slone Matthews; his daughter Patricia; and his sister Virginia Coughlin.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Matthews of Cincinnati, OH, Thomas Matthews (Janet) of Lexington, KY, John Matthews (Eileen) and Anne Ryan (Russ) of Vienna, VA; his stepchildren, Andrea Slone (Larry Yates) of Cincinnati, OH, Deck Slone and Tim Slone (Carolyn) of Frankfort, KY; and his brother Jack Matthews of Eatontown, NJ. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and twenty-nine nieces and nephews.
