He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Broersma, and Robert Broersma, Sr.; his parents-in-law, Etta and Clarence Bode; his brothers, Thomas and Charles; and his brothers-in-law, Paul Bode and S. John Van Haste.
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his daughters, Jocelyn Yost (Bruce) of Holland, MI, Stacey Kumar of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Rachel Swanson (Nathan) of Durham, NH; his sisters, Margaret Van Dyke (Bruce), Barbara Van Haste and Mary Okkema (Bruce); his grandchildren, Aaron, Sophia Yost, Jayson, Sarah Kumar, Beatrix and Coraline Swanson; and his parents-in-law, Clarice, Gordon Johnson, Ardelle, Sherman Kredit, Virginia, Boyd Bode, Hilda and Lee Bode.
