He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gilkey and Annette Gilkey; his wife Mary Elizabeth "Mae" Gilkey; and his siblings, Dorothy Mahon (Bud), Millie McFarland (Ross), Jerry Gilkey (Nancy), Jim Gilkey and Don Gilkey (Justine).
He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Doerflein (Rick), Roger Gilkey, Mathew Gilkey (Suzanne) and Lisa Triplett (Tyson); his grandchildren, Mike (Kristen), Brian (Ashleigh), Allie, Nathan, Ava, Tyson Jr. and Silas; his great grandchildren, Storm, Ruby, Deavon and Charlie; and his siblings, Mary Lou Osterfeld (late Bill), Larry Gilkey (Sharon) and Ken Gilkey (Mary).
