He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Herrlinger and Pauline Herrlinger; and his siblings, Gerald Herrlinger and Nancy Leininger. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Herrlinger (Singler); his daughters, Amy Scheels (John Jr.), Julie Lewis, Lori Knapp (Jeremy), Jill Herrlinger (James Coyle) and Maria Herrlinger; his grandchildren, Zachery, Anna, Lillian Scheels, Alexander, Sophia, Benjamin Knapp, Nayomi Herrlinger and Olivia Coyle; and his brother Arthur Herrlinger Jr..

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Neidhard Young Funeral Home (7401 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45231). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Rosary Church (17 Farragut Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45218). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
