He was predeceased by: his grandson Stephen; his parents, Anthony Bayer and Sylvia Jackson; and his sister Patricia Gambrell. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Heidkamp; his children, Beverly McMillen (late Mike), Rhonda Swann (Dave), Ronald Heidkamp, Jr., David Heidkamp (Monica), Catherine Heidkamp (Tim Daulton) and Thomas Heidkamp (Cherri Foster); his grandchildren, Michael (Erica), Nicholas (Ashley), Micheal (Samantha), Alexander (Melanie), Maria (Robby), Danielle, Jessica, Matthew (Noelle), Greta, MacKenzie (Conall), Elliot, Braycen, Grace, Sarah and Greg; his great grandchildren, Micheal, Conor, Molly, Charley, Ashley, Redick, Ava, Emmalyn, Paisley, Avery, Emily, Hailie and Tripp; and his nieces and nephews, Wanda, Sylvia, Donna, Donald and James.
