He was predeceased by: his parents, Phyllis Trost and Donald Trost. He is survived by: his stepdaughter Erika Krekeler; his siblings, Ralph "Lee" Trost (Trina), Tommy Trost (late Liz) and Lisa Davis (Glen); and his wife Rosa Trost.

“So sorry to hear of Terry's passing. He grew up with my sons and was such a blessing to our family with all the love and help he showed us when our loved one, Scottie Morrison was killed in Afghanistan and was laid out here at the Rec Center. He was such a blessing to our family and we were ever grateful to him. We pray Heavenly Fathers' peace on your family and we know Terry was welcomed home by his parents and I am sure, Scottie too! I know he will be greatly missed by all who love him.”
