He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Owens and Emma Duval (Hinkle); his wife Shirley M. Owens (Bernier); his children, Russell P. Owens and Sherry A. Owens; his son-in-law Richard C. Mackenzie; and his brother William Owens.
He is survived by: his daughters, Denise L. Mackenzie of Ludlow and Donna M. Lancto (Brian) of Ludlow; his grandchildren, Krystal, Laura Owens, Brandon, Brett, Ambrea Mackenzie, Brian Lancto, Jr. and Danielle Lancto; his great grandchildren, Dakota, Christian, Andrew, Joseph, Julian, Serena, Keira, Rowen, Aaliyah and Alanna; and his siblings, Diane of Indiana and David Duval of Ohio. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends.
His family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory Saint Jude Children's Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
