He was predeceased by : his parents, Saundra Powell (Allen) and Samuel Powell; his siblings, Peggy Matheny (Powell) and Samuel Powell; and his nieces, Shannon Powell and Kaci Sells.

He is survived by : his wife Valerie Myers; his children, Brandi Powell (Dru), Megan Miller (Malcolm), Jacob Myers and Faith Powell; his grandchildren, Carminn and Dru; his stepmother Betty Powell; his siblings, Tim Powell (Karen), Tom Powell and Pam Powell (Jim); his sisters-in-law, Angie Marshall and Laura Garren (Jack Garren); and his mother-in-law Deborah Marshall (Tom).
