As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Roger may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Smith and Louvina Smith. He is survived by: his wife Fonda Smith; and his sons, Scott Smith (Rebecca) of North Carolina and Kevin Smith (Kristen) of Indiana. He is also survived by several grandsons; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Dayton National Cemetery (4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428).
