He was predeceased by: his parents, Zelma Phillips and Campbell Phillips; his wife Mary Jane Phillips; his sisters, Helen Phillips, Sue Hix and Janette Potter; and his brothers-in-law, Claude Hix, Winfred Potter and Eddie Staggs.

He is survived by: his children, Ray C. Phillips of Lebanon, OH, Debbie Bieller (Doug) of Miamisburg, OH, Carolyn Smith (Rick) of Chattanooga, Angela Tackett (Marty) of Lebanon, OH, Melissa Childers (Steve) of Englewood, OH and Lora Watkins (Brian) of Atlanta, Georgia.; his grandchildren, Evan Hopkins (Sarah), Tyler Hopkins (Savannah), Brandon Hopkins (Debbie), Justin Smith, Noah Smith, Samuel Smith, Kristin Lens (James), Brittany Johnson (Tyler), Jessica Gullette (Adam), Courtney Lutes (Sterling), Caeley Childers, Jordan Childers (Gracie) and Sydney Watkins; his great grandchildren, Dakota, Dean, Kai, Tatum, Zechariah, Brooks, Jackson (JJ), Sunny Jane, Kaysen, Kyler, Xander, Jayce, Kane, Kian, Daxtyn and Ryker; and his sisters, Barbra Staggs and Reba Battel (John). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, extended family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Stratford Heights Church of God (4419 Nelson Rd, Middletown, OH 45042). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
