He was predeceased by : his wife Joan Somers; his brother Bobby Somers; and also Arthur Alex. He is survived by : his children, Edward Somers (Anna) of Mobile, AL and Catherine Somers; his grandson Alex Somers; his brother Harvey Somers of Ann Arbor, MI; his brother-in-law Steven Nathanson (Patricia) of Toledo, OH; and his pet Lovey.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at the Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel (1985 S Taylor Rd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118).
