With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael S Shanes (Cleveland Heights, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 25, 2025 at the age of 63. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving Shanes and Audrey Shanes (Wolstein). He is survived by: his brother B. Adam Shanes; his sibling's children, Alexis Shanes and Sam Shanes; his cousins, Howard Bender (Ellen), Jody Ress (Jim), Neil Young (Wendy), Brian Young (Didi), Darrell Young and Steven Young (Dawn Smith); and his friends, Griffin M. Allen, Nancy Hancock Griffith, Kelly Grossberg, Scott Gruden, Liz Shapiro and Amy Simon.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel (1985 S Taylor Rd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118).
