He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Lori Groose (late Keith) and Dave Merkle; his grandchildren, Omar and Laila Hakki; his stepchild Sandy Pogozelski (Bob); his stepgrandchildren, Jason Pogozelsi (Shuoyu), Rachel Bembenick (Gus) and Lisa Shriver (Noah); and his stepgreat-grandson Matt Golden (Amber).
