He is survived by: his daughter Amira Boyd Carter; his grandchildren, Zoey Edwards and Ace Edwards; his siblings, Marrietta Renay Bush, Shana Evans, Michael Pennington, Gregory Pennington, Tony Pennington and Charles Pennington; his aunt Juanita "Sissy" Boyd; his cousins, Doretha "Reba" Whiteside and Ebony Boyd; and his close friends, Frances Caldwell and George Clayton. He is also survived by other relatives and close friends.
