He was predeceased by: his parents, Hester Owens and John Layne Sr.; and his siblings, Charles Layne and Francis Layne. He is survived by: his sibling Gene Layne Sr. of Winchester; his wife Fannie E. Layne; his son Gary Layne Sr. Better; his grandchildren, Gary Layne Jr. and Jasmin Layne; and his great grandchildren, Gary Layne III, Zoë Layne, Ethan Layne, Brooklyn Layne, Emmitt Layne, Maison Lurns and Mavrik Lurns. He is also survived by his Wife, Son, Grandchildren, and many more family and friends.
