She is survived by: her former husband Jim Harper; her son James Harper (Elaine); her brothers, Horace (Lois) and Edward Whetstone (Cynthia); her grandchildren, Jasmine (Camerin), Antonio (Abby), Alexandra Harper, Arrielle, Avery Luke, Nathan and Nadiya Thomas; her son-in-law Curtis Smith; and her nephew Alton Evans.
