He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Capers and Anna Mae Capers; his wife Ethel Capers; and his son Ervin Wilson. He is survived by: his children, Michael Capers, Mark Capers (Vanessa), Marty Capers (Dana) and Yolanda Warren (Eric); and his sister Peggy Williams. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Viewing will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Watson's Funeral Home (10913 Superior Ave, Cleveland, OH 44106). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland (3630 Fairmount Blvd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Cleveland Memorial Gardens (4324 Green Rd, Cleveland, OH 44128).
