We announce the death of Therese K. Poynton (Cleveland, Ohio), who passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 67. Therese will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Stephen T. Poynton; her children, Emily Meissner (David), Brianne Thome (Christopher) and Kevin (Sarah); her grandchildren, Joseph, Rowan, Cormac, Maura, Cillian, Margaret, Avila, Eamon and Amelia; her parents, Therese McGoun and Edward P. McGoun; and her siblings, Patrick McGoun (Kathryn), Maribeth Tomko (Jeffrey), Gayle O'Brien (Patrick), Bryan McGoun (Debbie), Michael McGoun and John McGoun (Michelle).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home of Cleveland (4420 Rocky River Dr, Cleveland, OH 44135). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mary Queen of Peace Church (4423 Pearl Rd, Cleveland, OH 44109).
