He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Patrick and Rhodena Patrick (Wright); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Berger. He is survived by: his sisters, Terri Patrick and Diane Schultz; his nieces, Megan Wahlers (Doug) and Allison King (Jamie); his nephew Lee Schultz; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Caleb, Braxton, Brently, Levi, Landon, Carmen, Charlotte, Carissa and Rose. He is also survived by cousins, extended family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa County Humane Society in Doug's memory.
