He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Bettinger and Regina Bettinger (Hemmelgarn); his son-in-law Brian Clune; and his in-laws, Herman "Bud", Rita Bettinger, Clarina, Serf Lefeld, Lucille, Harold "Bob" Bergman, Angela Bettinger, Marguerite, Clete Griesdorn, William Bettinger, Mary Ellen Bettinger, Paul Rutschilling, Norma Bettinger, Bob, Barb Bettinger, LaVern and Marlene Bettinger.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Bettinger (Shockman); his children, Kevin Bettinger of Coldwater, Charmaine Bettinger of Coldwater, Michelle Clune of Coldwater, Cheryl and Les Nichols of Rockford; his grandchildren, Jacob, Maya Bettinger, Mikayla, Tevyn Osborne, Brooke Clune, Kendra Clune, Kelsey Nichols (Justan Felver), Eddie Nichols, Audrey Nichols, Megan Nichols and Lindsay Nichols; his great grandchildren, Weston and Roselynn Osborne; and his sister Grace Rutschilling of Coldwater. He is also survived by his family, especially watching his kids and grandkids.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home (715 E Main St, Coldwater, OH 45828). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church (102 W Main St, Coldwater, OH 45828).
