He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin J. Carson Sr. (Gladys) and Gladys Hardy Wilkins; his siblings, William (Frances), Arthur (Gwendolyn), Simeon (Jeanette) and Mary Benson; and his grandson Joshua Carson.

He is survived by: his wife Christine P. Carson; his children, Mariette Polite (Robert) and Benjamin III Carson (Joyce); his stepdaughter Zarina Morgan; and his grandchildren, Benjamin IV, Nathaniel Carson, Immanuelle, Isaac Polite and Jourdain Morgan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
