She was predeceased by: her husbands, William Garland (Bill) and Eddie Parker; her siblings, Curtis, John Jr., Ova Tate, Grace Hamilton and Mildred Bass; and her niece Nancy Simpson.

She is survived by: her children, Beverly "Bunny" Sutton (Lloyd) of Michigan, Steve Garland and James Garland (Patricia) of California; and her sisters, Rachel Blake and Hazel Jones. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives as well as many friends.
