We are sad to announce that, on January 13, 2026, at the age of 87, Carolyn Vander Stouw in Columbus, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Carolyn has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter DeHaan and Margaret DeHaan (Bell). She is survived by: her children, Steve Vander Stouw (Michelle) and Karen Vander Stouw; her grandchildren, Garrett Vander Stouw and Alexandra Vander Stouw; her brother Frank DeHaan (Marilou); and her pet Lillie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, Carolyn requested donations be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church (StStephensColumbus.org) or Neighborhood Services Inc., 1950 North 4th Street, Columbus, OH (NSIfoodpantry.org).
