Catherine Shearn Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Shearn (Columbus, Ohio), who passed away on October 31, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Devereaux and Martha Devereaux; and her siblings, Jo Ann, Pat, Dorothy, Jim and Mike.

She is survived by: her husband John; her children, Kevin, Tom (Kelly) and Kathy; her grandchildren, Cole, Riley, Caden and Sophia; her sisters, Mary Ellen Lancia (Fred) and Rose Devereaux; and her daughter-in-law Andrea. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Maeder-Quint-Tiberi Funeral Home (1068 S High St, Columbus, OH 43206). A Mass was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel (6440 S High St, Lockbourne, OH 43137). Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and her dementia diagnosis, Kay also found joy in her work with Tri-Care, where she transported children with autism to school.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
