With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher Witherspoon (Columbus, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 17, 2025 at the age of 75. He was predeceased by: his father William L. Witherspoon; his brother William A. Witherspoon; and his grandparents, Henry, Georgia Gatewood, Christopher Witherspoon and Nellie Clay.
He is survived by: his mother Georgietta McElhannon; his daughter Tracey Yates (Ron); his grandchildren, Craig Tanner and Charyce Davis; his great grandchildren, Harmoni-Marie, Willie Coleman, IV, Martius and Khala Tanner; his nieces and nephews, Sheldon Witherspoon (Erika), Brian Witherspoon, Cherise and Deborah Witherspoon; his sister-in-law Marsha Witherspoon (William); and his uncle Bobby Gatewood. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
