He was predeceased by: his parents, Connie Etter-Mitchell and Clarence Mitchell Sr.; and his siblings, Lilly Mae Wallace, Yvonne Peters, Taylor Clark, Lydia Mitchell, Rosie Mitchell, Cornelius Mitchell and Gregory Mitchell.
He is survived by: his close friend Eloise Alexander; and his sister Cecelia Bush. He is also survived by many grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
