It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Collis Toomer Sr. (Columbus, Ohio), born in Franklinton, Louisiana, who passed away on December 28, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mallory Toomer and Vendora Toomer; his brothers, Lablanch Toomer and Wille Toomer; his son Collis Toomer Jr.; and his niece Colete Grainger.
He is survived by: his wife Jewel Toomer of Columbus, Ohio; his son Alfonso Toomer (Carolyn) of Hartsville, S. C.; his brother Larnell Toomer (Yonnette) of Hephzibah, Georgia; his stepchildren, Ramona, Jessica Badley and Norman Badley of Euclid, Ohio; his niece Jasmine Waters; and his goddaughters, Cheryl and Ciara Fields. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
