He was predeceased by: his parents, Effley Sr. Brooks and Mary Elizabeth Brooks; and his siblings, Effley Brooks Jr. and Faye Carol Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Freida; his children, Curtis Brooks, Jr. (Teresa) and Cinnamon Pipkin (John); his grandchildren, Natalie Brooks (Kenan Mathews), Grant Brooks and Brooklyn Pipkin; and his siblings, Maxley Brooks (Rebecca), Anthony Brooks (Patricia) and Jacqueline Knight. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
