He is survived by: his parents, Leroy Shaffer and Doris Shaffer; his wife Loretta Shaffer; his children, Kim Shaffer, Mim Thurman (Richard), Steve Shaffer (Terri), Summer George (Rick) and Mandie Shaffer; his grandchildren, Luke, Samantha, Jordan, Casey, Daniel, Sisilia, Caden, Ellie, William Dale and Kaia; and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Layla, Holly and Theodore.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dale's memory toward the Wounded Warrior Project.
