He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton B. Riggs and Beulah Maxine Conyers (Miller); and his wife Donna Alohalani Riggs (Oslund). He is survived by: his children, Laurie D. Schultz (Andy) of Van Wert, Valarie L. Parks (Mike) of Van Wert and Darren F. Riggs of Van Wert; his grandchildren, Brittney Schaadt, Brielle Schultz, Amelia Schultz, Isaac Schultz, Erica Riggs, Katlin Dasher (Lance), Jesse Parks, Scot Riggs (Jessica) and McKenzie Riggs; his sister Velvet L. Colliflower of Waterford, Michigan; and his caregiver Carol McConnell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert Humane Society.
