Patricia Thompson wrote a sympathy message

“My deepest condolence to Denise’s family and friends. Denise and I are first cousins. My mom, Aunt Rosa, was your dad’s sister. As kids, we used to visit you when you lived on Kelton Ave. Your sisters, Julia and Annelia, were closer in age to me and my sister, Jerry. They played with us in the same neighborhood, over on N. Washington Ave., near Boone Street, many, many years ago. Denise, Kathy and Clifton were the younger set of cousins. Denise, you remind me so much of your mother, my Aunt Rudy. You both had bright smiles and great laughs that inspired everyone around you to join in. There was always something good to eat when we visited, and we were encouraged to fix a plate, sit down, eat as much as you want, and to also to take food home. I moved from Columbus and lived in California for many years. When I returned about 11 years ago, Denise’s daughters, Carletta and Sarah, and my daughter, Angel, became the “best of friends”. They had quite a lot of fun going to the movies, birthday parties, King's Island, and spending weekend overnights at my home and yours. That was a very special time in our lives as we saw our daughters grow from giggly adolescent girls into beautiful young ladies. Gone too soon, dear cousin. I miss you. You now rest among the angels, greeted by our parents and our grandparents and welcomed into God’s heavenly realm. Rest in peace dear, Denise. I love you. Patricia Thompson”
