He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophronia Staten and Charles Newton; his brothers, Bobby, Larry Treadway and Charlie Newton Jr.; and his siblings' children, Gregory "Mack" Treadway, Terry "Boom" Allen, Charles "Woo" Staten, Mark "Duke" Newton, Jeremy and Jamecia Ward.
He is survived by: his wife Annette Newton; his stepson Leon Alexander; his son Phillip Newton; his grandchildren, Shanequa, Dayon, Kira, Vira and Paradise Newton; and his siblings, Herbert (Kathrine), Donald (Ludell), Jackie, Patricia, Debra (Lamar), Althea (Eddie), Lisa and Carolyn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
